Lincoln is a luxury auto manufacturer known for its premium rides. Here at Southgate Lincoln, we have a wide variety of new Lincoln vehicles in stock, and one vehicle that has a lot of people talking is the 2021 Lincoln Aviator. The Lincoln Aviator is a midsize SUV that offers quality luxury features, plenty of cargo space, and top-notch technology and safety features that make this an excellent SUV for any Detroit driver.
Engine & Performance
Coming standard in the Lincoln Aviator is a 400-horsepower twin-turbo V-6 engine. This enhanced 3.0-liter V-6 is attached to a 10-speed automatic transmission allowing for a smooth drive and commanding acceleration. Instead of a V-8 engine in its higher trims, Lincoln opted to offer a plug-in hybrid model, known as the Aviator Grand Touring. This new hybrid uses the same standard V-6 offered on other Aviator trims but with a 100-horsepower electric motor and a 13.6-kWh battery. By combining an electric motor with its V-6 engine, these two sources can output 494 horsepower and 630 pound-feet of torque.
Fuel Economy
The EPA estimates that the standard Lincoln Aviator has a gas mileage of 18 miles in the city and 26 miles on the highway. Customers who opt to buy the all-wheel-drive model will get slightly less gas mileage as its estimated fuel economy is around 17 miles in the city and 24 miles on the highway. As for the plug-in-hybrid Grand Touring trim, this model is projected to get 21 miles of electric range before having to switch over to its gas-powered engine.
Interior Space
Across its five trims, each 2021 Aviator is installed with a third row of seats and can be configured for either six or seven occupants. While this midsize crossover does have a third row, it hasn't compromised on its cargo space, as the Aviator offers 18 cubic feet of storage. Upfront, Southgate drivers can select seating options that allow for heated seats, massaging seats, and multiple adjustability preferences. Drivers and passengers alike will also enjoy the 14-speaker audio system that comes standard in all Aviators, though that can be increased to 28-speakers in the vehicles Luxury Package.
Safety & Technology
With a luxury vehicle like the Aviator, it's only natural that Lincoln would outfit the Aviator with state-of-the-art technology and safety features. Standard technology found in all Lincoln Aviators is a 10.1-inch touchscreen, integrated smartphone technology, a satellite radio, and a Wi-Fi hot spot. At higher trims, Detroit drivers can use their phones as a smart key to unlock and start the Aviator.
To keep you safe out on the road, Lincoln has installed all Aviators with a Co-Pilot360 system. This unique safety system provides drivers with a forward-collision warning with automated emergency braking and pedestrian detection, blind-spot monitoring, lane-keeping assistance, and automatic high beams. Those who purchase the optional Co-Pilot360 Plus will discover additional safety features like adaptive cruise control, traffic-sign recognition, and a self-parking.
